The Learning Advantage

Tiger Woods has a coach.
Jack Welch has a coach.
Meryl Streep has a coach.

Why? Because people at the top of their game want to stay there.

Success is no accident. Those who reach peak performance —whether in their professional or personal lives— are committed to learning. They are clear about what they want, motivated to meet their goals, and cognizant of what steps they must take to get there.

Individual and team coaching provides support for actions needed to lead change. By committing to a coaching relationship, clients are able to give their goals the priority they deserve.

Case History

The Chief Investment Officer of a 3,000 person organization wanted to show the officers that through re-organization and a new strategy to manage the bond portfolio, he could make significant money for the corporation. In the past, the officers had not thought of the portfolio as a money-making venture. They had hired low risk-taking money managers and had seen neither losses nor growth in it.

The Solution

The Learning Advantage was hired to"make the CIO successful." Coaching involved learning a new skill set: leadership, and navigating organization politics. We were able to help him gain greater buy-in for his decisions and ultimately more authority to do what he did best— invest. We worked with his management team to understand and operationalize the new vision, re-structure, and respond positively and supportively to change. We coached other managers and technical staff in how to behave differently to succeed in the new risk-taking culture and how to work as a team to support one another. With increased team problem-solving skills and collaboration, productivity was increased without increasing the risk of the new decisions.
